Diagnostic / visit fee
Our fee to attend and diagnose is £89 (remote or on-site in Exeter & surrounding Devon) or £119 (on-site Torbay). It covers the call-out and diagnostics and is payable in full whether or not you go ahead with the repair, and whether or not the fault can be resolved. Any repair is quoted separately.
Quotes & authorisation
We give you a quote for any repair and will not carry out chargeable repair work beyond the diagnostic without your approval.
Your data
You are responsible for backing up your own data. Repairs can result in data loss and some require wiping or reinstalling. We are not liable for any loss of data, files, photos, licences or settings. Data recovery is never guaranteed.
Equipment taken away
Where we take equipment away, this signed sheet is the record of what was received. Please collect repaired equipment within 30 days of being told it is ready. Equipment uncollected for 90 days after notification, despite reasonable attempts to contact you, may be sold or recycled to recover our costs (Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977).
Warranty
We warranty our labour for 30 days against the same fault recurring. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty (typically 12 months). Warranty excludes new/unrelated faults, accidental or liquid damage, misuse, and malware reinfection.
Payment & liability
Payment (cash or bank transfer) is due on completion before equipment is returned. We work with reasonable care and skill but are not liable for pre-existing faults, data loss, or indirect/consequential losses; where liable, our liability is limited to the cost of the work you paid us. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
Right to cancel
On-site and remote jobs usually carry a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By asking us to start within that period you agree we may begin immediately, that you lose the right to cancel once the work is complete, and that if you cancel part-way you must pay for work already done (including the diagnostic fee).
